HALLOWEEN makeup

On Saturday I went out to celebrate Halloween! It was quite a last minute deal so I just about managed to find some fangs! I only had about 10 minutes (which is not a great deal of time for me) to put makeup on so this is what I achieved.

Makeup used:

Bobbi brown skin foundation 2.5
Bobbi brown corrector light bisque
MAC fluidline (silver)
Bobbi brown gel liner get black
Loreal extreme lash mascara
NARS blush luster (used a bit in the crease aswell)
MAC lipstick Russian Red

After seeing the elaborate display of Halloween costumes that London had to offer, my halloween getup was majorly flawed. Regardless I still had a good night!

PHONE decoration

When I first got a BB I was quite dissapointed that I couldn't put a phone charm on it, I always had thing for statement phonecharms. But now I've found my alternative to make my phone stand out a bit.

What do you think?
Do you think I made it myself? (o ~)

My VIVIENNE WESTWOOD obsession

My obsession with Vivienne Westwood began about 3-4 years ago.

It all started when I started getting into the Japanese culture, language, fashion which inevitably led to reading manga and watching anime. Eventually I was led to watch a live action movie (of a manga that developed into an anime and then.... you get the picture) called NANA.

The story, briefly, is about two girls who meet coincidentally on a train to Tokyo city and happen to share the same name and age but apart from these two factors they don't seem to have much in common; the have completely different styles and personalities but their lives soon intertwine when they end up living together. Anyway, despite this many of the characters in the film wear a lot of Vivienne Westwood clothing and accessories, most noticeable being a statement armour ring, and a huge orb pendant that is actually a lighter!

The ironic thing is that VW is a British designer yet somehow she became iconic more in Japan then here (or so it appears) so it was easily accessible here in the UK.
Most of the collection
Originally I had this teddy bear in its phone charm form, but whilst on the train I sadly lost it. One of my friends managed to find it on eBay as a bag charm & gave it to me as a Christmas present. It's not quite the same but I still love it! It stays permanently on my diesel bag that I got in the boxing day sales.
It was difficult to take a picture of this one but its a long necklace with a small orb pendant which conveniently seems to somehow look slightly like a kem göz [evil eye] which looks like this. You would wear an evil eye to protect you from a person who is jealous of you. For example if you had just bought new shoes and someone was jealous of you they didn't want you to have it there is a almost superstition if the shoes were to miraculously break.
Yeah one of my friends bought me this for my 19th birthday, I was really shocked! I didn't know what to say or whether to accept it or not because of the situation and the implications it would have. But, I clearly still have it. (^^')
This is my favourite necklace. I don't wear it that much anymore because it just reminds me of a certain time when I wore it. That's really stupid, it cost me a lot xD I'm sure in the near future I will wear it often again. I think its because I stopped wearing a lot of jewelry I used to layer necklaces a lot in college but I don't have time for that anymore and it just gets in the way as I'm at work all the time. Conversely NO ONE makes an effort at uni and I'd rather blend in then stand out, uni people are weird.

Ignore my hands.
Now, this is a ring that I wanted for about 2 years before I actually received it for my 18th birthday. This is the notorious ring from the NANA film, the armour ring I mentioned. Isn't it beaaaaaaaaauttttttttttttiiiiiiiiiiifffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul?
Before I got it my sister asked me if someone gave it to me, what I would do, knowing full well that I was going to get it. I said, foolishly that I couldn't accept it! That it's too much for one person to get me, especially on their own! Mainly because I couldn't even imagine anyone even wanting to get it for me. But, again I still have it.
I felt so special when I got it, its still my most prized possession I think :3
I've had this purse for 3 years! 3 years! NEVER EVER EVER has a purse lasted me that long & it's still going strong! The thing is I remember buying this for like £65 (I think) now any of the Vivienne Westwood purses of this size could set you up more then double that so good thing I bought it when I did! :D

I got this perfume for Christmas last year from my older sister and I've only used it like 3 times because I really don't wanna waste it! I love the smell! I adore the body cream that it comes with and funnily enough I've never even tried the bracelet that it came with until today because its SO loose it would be annoying to wear daily or throughout the day.

This was a gift from my friend, not that I'd ever purchase it myself because I think its a ghastly waste of money to have a notebook I can't bring myself to spoil with my horrendous writing or even photos of myself. I joked that I'd save it for my marriage pictures but it looks like I'll do just that. How lovely it would be to honour my favourite designer with my wedding photos. GLORIOUS.

Lastly here is my Vivienne Westwood nautical bag. Its a bowling bag with embroidered orbs in one of my favourite colours ever! The lining is adorable and its way more spacious then it looks!

After explaining all of my pieces a lot of this stuff were gifts given to me so that says a lot about how much my friends and family love me :3 well I like to think so at least.

Parisian FOOD

Whilst I was in Paris I was taking away by the beautiful scenery, the community feel of the towns (ALL independent shops as far as I could see) and more importantly the array of food they had to offer!

I was underwhelmed by the repetitive menus served at every brasserie in central Paris but where my hotel was situated a bit further away from it all there was this quaint little restaurant that whenever I passed it, it was always frequented by locals and always very busy (both in my eyes are a give away if a restaurant in other countries are good, follow the locals!)

Keep in mind I'm vegetarian so I don't find the meat pictures appealing...

I really wanted to try Parisian scallops!

GLOSSYBOX october

It's my fourth GLOSSYBOX this month & I've been waiting obediently to see whats in store for me. I was shocked to see that the report card had been enlarged to the width of the box. This coupled with the fact that there are a range of mature-aimed products makes me think that a lot of maturer women must be the main target range for GLOSSYBOXES. But I might be thinking too much.

WHAT WAS INSIDE:

Dermalogica Age Smart  - Multi Vitamin Thermafoliant  - A powerful thermal skin polisher that combines physical and chemical exfoliants (15ml) £40.50 for 75ml
Dermalogica Age Smart  - Multi Vitamin Power Recovery Masque  - A powerful masque of concentrated antioxidant vitamins to help skin recover and regenerate (15ml) £33.00 for 70ml
EXTRA – Dermalogica Age Smart -   Renewal lip complex (with beauty bag)

After LONDON FASHION NIGHT (September 8th) I had already received an array of dermalogica products, for free, so I wasn't too happy to see more of this range. Nothing personal against GLOSSYBOX but I've already used dermalogica brand for over a year & now it does nothing for my skin so I'd rather choose any other brand to be honest. I know its never too early to prevent wrinkles but if I'm only 20 years old what kind of life would I live if I'm trying to stop aging now? However saying that the lip complex smells lush&is very hydrating! The other two products I'm yet to use.
Yes, I got this for FREEEEE.
Leighton Denny Expert Nails  -  Colour and Care (nail varnish) – Beautifully groomed hands and feet are always in fashion and with Leighton Denny nail colours, it’s easy to keep them that way. This is full size at £11.00 for 12ml

I received the colour BABYDOLL. Its a very cute nude pink but actually more pigmented when you apply it on. I have an olive skintone so I find that it is a bit bright for me, especially considering it is basically autumn I think a darker colour would've been more appropriate. The polish glides on easily (if you wipe a bit of nail polish remover on your nails first)  and dries very quickly! I'm quite impressed with this brand! You can see a sly swatch of the stila eyeliner on my hand aswell.. ;D

Stila – Smudge stick waterproof eyeliner (in Moray)  - Stila’s highly pigmented waterproof eye liner glides on delivering intense, vibrant colour with staying power. This is full size and retails at £13.00

I would NEVER opt for a green eyeliner! So I was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful olive coloured shimmery eyeliner! I can't wait to use it for a night out (because it is waterproof/resistant it doesn't make it suitable for day time wear in my opinion) my only quarrel with it is that its difficult trying to get it to give more product but hopefully over time this won't be a problem.

Robert Piguet – Eau de Parfums – Fracas, Visa and Calypso are three signature scents from the ‘most Parisian of fashion designers’ (3 x 0.8ml) £65.00 for 50ml

All three of these scents smell very sweet which I love, I popped a bit on my wrist just to test the smell and it lasted all day! I am seriously thinking of purchasing the full size of the Visa bottle even though it is a bit pricey.

SUMMARY:

To summarize I wasn't too impressed with this months GLOSSYBOX only because it was an anticlimax to last months amazing array! I liked the polish and the liner most.

I felt like some of these samples, with a bit of effort, I could have gotten for free. It just seemed quite lazy to have 3 of the products be from the same brand when the whole excitement is trying new and undiscovered products. Or at least thats the impression I have with their aim with these beauty boxes.

However I will undoubtedly continue to subscribe to this box for fear I might miss out!

Turkish VEGETARIAN?

Vejetaryen Pide: ıspanak, beyaz peynir, mantar ve domates.
Above is a picture of a vegetarian pide, basically the vegetarian version of lahmacun (Turkish pizza). There are different variations most with some sort of cheese, mushroom and bell peppers but above is a spinach, feta, mushroom and tomato version. I really love Turkish bread, a similar version would be a focaccia (Italian flat bread) very soft and crunchy at the same time.
I've been a vegetarian for almost 5 years now. In my culture it is practically UNHEARD of because we are known for our meat specialities (kebab, shish, adana - I'm pretty sure we like to take credit for creating BBQ's as well xD).

No matter what time of day it is, meat is most likely going to be served, yes, even at breakfast! It is so rare that we don't even have a word for vegetarian it is basically used as an English word but I'm pretty sure if you said it to a non-English speaking Turkish person they wouldn't know what it meant..

So I like to try different cuisines because eating the same kinda food all the time not only has adverse effects but is very dull: for instance if you ate a tomato everyday, for the rest of your life it wouldn't have the same effect on your body then if you ate it every so often.

Una revisión de la realidad

Siempre he pensado que las cosas podrían cambiar.

Sin embargo, no importa lo que haga, nunca yo será lo suficientemente bueno.

Por lo tanto, me rindo.

Sinceramente.

Got me thinking

Recently, I went to Paris with my family. (That's me in the Louvre ;D)
It was the first holiday we've had (minus my brother of course) in 10 years. The reason why we haven't or rather can't go on holiday together is because we have contracts with hotels. We can't run both a business and be out of the country because apart from the allocated Sunday off (and of course national holidays) as we risk losing those contracts. If we lose those contracts which we've taken 10 years to accumulate I don't even want to think about what would happen.
Although I was extremely grateful that we were even allowed to go on this mini adventure it didn't satisfy me as much as I thought it would. The short trip was fueled by arguments, clashing personalities, more fatigue then rest; all of the problems were seemingly justified by lack of time.
One of the evenings, my dad was drinking, which was the first time in about 6 weeks or so, and I grew so tired with him leading to an unnecessary exposure of his hidden emotion against me. I didn't know how to respond to his rendition.
"Do you resent me. Us?"
I never show any affection to my family, well at least physical. In fact I despise it. It was just crazy to me that we spend all this time together and nothing like this was ever exposed before.
I guess I'll learn one day exactly how I'm supposed to feel.

Rachels Surprise 21st

I know what I planned wasn’t amazing; I don’t even want to keep bringing it up either because I didn’t do it for the recognition, or adversely, the criticism. I just did it the best I know how and I just hoped it was good enough to make her smile at least.

The coincidence of us wearing the same colour was just the perfect example of our harmony.

She has been there were others have failed. I don’t need people to agree with my decisions but with her compassionate and caring nature, it’s all you need to make the pain go away. I just hope she stays in my life.

Thank you for your time!

Being ill

Weekend was over long ago yet I still feel the after effects.

Hayfever combined with insomnia and this confliction I feel. I don't know how to handle it.

I hate being stuck in bed. With all this time to evaluate my life. Thats why I enjoy keeping busy, avoiding reality and regret. With any luck I'll recover asap.
